When I first started writing this it was going to be for my future husband about what true love is, and then I realized that the perfect example of true love is Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made for the entire world.
True Love came down,
For you and for me
Came down for all
The world to see
In the form of a baby,
One holy night
Guided by angels
And a heavenly light.
True love came down
For you and for me
Teaching and preaching
Salvation full and free
Healing the sick
And raising the dead
Followed by hundreds
A perfect life he led.
True love came down
For you and for me
And died for our sins
On Calvary’s tree.
True love came down
For you and for me
And rose from the grave
On day three.
True love is in
My heart today
Filled with God’s love
And washed clean of sin.
