Angel of Mercy

Can you smell Death’s stench?
Can you feel its sting?
When you swim in its Sea of Sorrow,
Are you pulled down to the murky depths?
A captor, a villain,
A comforter, a friend,
Such irony surrounds this Angel of Mercy.
